Kristen E. Porter, MAc, LAc has been working in the public health and integrative health field for 20 years. She is an Assistant Professor at the New England School of Acupuncture, a columnist for the U.S. publication Acupuncture Today and holds an appointment to the Massachusetts Board of Medicine. As a National Institute of Health funded CAM researcher, Kristen has been the co-investigator on several research studies in the field of immunology and cost effectiveness and has published over 30 papers and abstracts.
For fifteen years she served as the Clinical and then Executive Director of the nonprofit Pathways to Wellness, growing the organization to the largest holistic center in the US providing holistic care to the underserved. During her tenure, she designed over 15 hospital and health center based programs, a full time yoga studio and multi modality services that included acupuncture, Chinese herbs, massage/bodywork, chiropractic, craniosacral and yoga targeting low income people. She has been the lead visionary for wellness programs that span specialty areas of infectious disease, oncology, fertility, geriatric and home based care.
She is currently working on her PhD in Gerontology at University of Massachusetts, Boston.
