Dr. Vincent Chung is one of the first batches of Chinese Medicine practitioner trained after 1997, and is one of the few in academe contributing to the development of the government's policy of integrating Chinese Medicine in the health system. He received the Hong Kong Jockey Club scholarship in 1999 and completed his undergraduate Chinese medicine education as an Outstanding Student of the School of Chinese Medicine, Hong Kong Baptist University in 2005. In the same year he started his PhD study in the School of Public Health and Primary Care, Chinese University of Hong Kong. Since joining the School, Dr. Chung has been the co-investigator of several policy research projects on Chinese medicine funded by the Research Grant Council and the Health and Health Services Research Fund. In 2008, he received a Global Scholarship Grant for training in University of Cambridge, and the Best Oral Presentation Award in the Hong Kong-Macau Postgraduate Symposium in Chinese Medicine. He completed his PhD in 2009 and joined the School as an instructor.
